The first thing to consider when selling online is to take a look at other shops for examples of good photography, Checkyour lighting, try different shots and see what turns out best.

If you aren’t certain how to set up your profile, take a look at other profiles, add more to yours. Fill in your shop policies, don,t just write the cost and what payment you accept, give out the most information you can so your buyers will be confident about purchasing from you.

List more items, don’t publish your shop until you have a reasonable amount of items listed. Keep adding some every time you have a chance.
When listing, give a good description with size and materials you use for making your art. Add your tags, fill up the 14 that are available to you.t especially add more tags and info to your descriptions, what materials you use, size, etc.
Make sure you are pricing your items correctly, don’t overprice.

Upgrade your shop image,  take a look  at other shops and what they do.

One thing I have learned from having an ETSY store is always provide the highest level of customer service to your customers  as well as anyone sending through a ‘convo’ or message of enquiry.

Even if they don’t buy right away they may come back down the track, or pass on your shop details to someone they know.

If you are friendly and professional people will appreciate and remember that.

Also ensure that your ‘convo’ communications are professional and friendly in tone and you get back to people promptly, as of course this gives a good impression of how you are to do business with and keeps your customers happy and hopefully coming back to your store to buy more!

It may be hard to keep track of all the user names and accounts you create in association with your Etsy account but keep a list when you start it will be very useful. A few sites I have found that are helpful & worth creating an account with is Try Handmade. Try Handmade is a website where you can submit your items to be featured on they’re site, you can submit one item per day. IndieSpotting is also a great place that features items you can submit one item per week. Also searching blog on the Etsy forums can narrow down searching for a blog to feature you :) I like to feature Etsians on my blog take a look.
